Video FAQ:

What does the builder’s warranty cover?

The builder typically issues a one-year written warranty, and that covers whatever is listed in the builder’s warranty that they’ve given you. The more important warranty is a 10-year implied warranty. It’s implied under the law, so it’s automatic. It covers virtually every system in the building. It requires that the systems all work the way you would expect them to work, that the roofs keep the water out, the windows keep the water out, the plumbing works, the electrical works, that sort of thing. It pretty much covers everything in the building.
