Zer Iyer is a partner at Angius & Terry and oversees the general counsel practice group in the Walnut Creek office. Ms. Iyer provides advice to community associations in all aspects of their daily operations and transactional matters. Her work includes advising clients on compliance with the Davis-Stirling Act and related laws that apply to community associations; governing document interpretation; contract review, negotiation and drafting; dispute resolution; and financial matters, including assessment collection. She is also the head of both the unlawful detainer and personal judgment lawsuit programs at the firm.
In addition to lecturing regularly at management company training events, Ms. Iyer is frequently asked to speak at industry events for the Community Associations Institute (CAI), California Association of Community Managers (CACM) and the Educational Community for Homeowners (ECHO). She has also authored articles in various trade industry publications, including the CACM Law Journal.
From 2013 through 2017, Ms. Iyer has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer “Rising Star”, which is a designation awarded to the top 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40 in Northern California. She is a member of the State Bar of California, Contra Costa County Bar Association, Educational Community for Homeowners, California Association of Community Managers, Community Associations Institute, and South Asian Bar Association of Northern California.
Ms. Iyer received her Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University of San Francisco School of Law. While in law school, she studied at Trinity University in Dublin, Ireland and Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. In 2000, she received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
